Bay City News in the San Francisco area reports the heartening story of a lottery winner who nearly lost out on an over $200 000 win.

The woman was cleaning house when she found an old California Lottery ticket and decided to check it out at a nearby convenience store.

To her delight, she found that it had been due to expire in two days but was worth $202 556.
