The lucky punter has not claimed the prize yet, whose exact worth according to New Zealand Lotteries' chief executive Todd McLeay was a cool $12,991,369.

Christmas Day also brought cheer for two other players, as each of them won a NZ$333,333 share of the first division prize. The winning tickets were sold at Edmonton Stationery and Lotto in Waitakere, and Sweet Lotto Centre, on the North Shore.
