Kenya Gets New Mobile Lottery
License given to a Canadian firm to operate an SMS-based lottery

It was announced this week from Montreal-based online lottery developer Amaya Gaming Group, that it has obtained a license to operate an SMS-based mobile lottery in Kenya.

In addition, the company stated that it will run two game formats: a number-draw game similar to 6/49 and scratch card game, adding that both are expected to become operational in the second quarter.

The company CEO David Baazov on this occasion specified that the Betting Control and Licenses Board granted two licenses to the company, for a period of three years.

According to the Kenyan government, the lottery proceeds will be used to support sports and social projects.
