Cheating the Online Casinos With Chargebacks
Bingo players won't need to worry about lady luck anymore when they are on a losing streak. Make a deposit and simply pick up the phone and do a chargeback on your credit card to cover losses. Fund your casino, bingo or poker accounts risk free and there is nothing to lose when voiding credit card transactions. That's what a independent senator in the Australian parliament Nick Xenophon is proposing to combat Internet gambling.

Australian law prohibits online gambling, yet there is an estimated 1 billion in wagers reported a year by Australians. Xenophon is seeking a total crack down on the illegal Internet gaming. Legalizing chargebacks on credit cards will hamper the casino operators from accepting bets from Australians. At the moment there are literally 100's of off shore sites accepting Australians.

In a statement to the local newspaper Xenophon had this to say “With voided credit card bets, I have to say there's something appealing to me about online casinos losing their shirts rather than the punters,” Xenophon told the newspaper. ”It would certainly make online casinos think twice about accepting Australian cards.”

In addition, the senator plans on proposing stricter controls on companies advertising wagering products and their affiliated sites. Pokerstars employs over 200 people in Chastwood, a suburb on the North Shore of Sydney. Companies that breach the law can be fined up to 1.1 million a day.

It is ironic that in the prevention of an illegal activity, an illegal proposal would be the resolution. It represents a double standard in what is morally right and wrong. Senator Xenophon's makes an offer that is definitely worth refusing. Makes one wonder, who is the real charlatan. Was that resounding “bingo” just heard from down under for sharing the same sentiments?
