Greek Intralot Closes Deal with Czech Fortuna
A decade-long supply deal inked

With a population of almost 11 million people and a Euro 17 700 GDP per capita, the Czech Republic represents one of the most prosperous countries of Central and Eastern Europe. Hence, it is an extremely attractive market for gambling businesses, which was proved this week when the Greek lottery specialist Intralot closed a new 10 year deal with the local Fortuna gambling group.

Based on the deal, Intralot will supply Fortuna Entertainment subsidiary Fortuna sázková kancelář with a central system and up to 3,500 lottery terminals for the operation of lottery numerical, fast and instant games. The network was launched this week with over 700 terminals already in operation, and a planned rise to about 1,000 within weeks.

According to Fortuna Lottery CEO Martin Illner, “Fortuna is launching its operations much earlier than expected and is ready to provide a wide portfolio of gaming offerings to its customers in the Czech Republic.

"So far, we have managed to develop a wide network of well-placed PoS that we are planning to expand further. We are confident that together with Intralot, we will manage to become the market leader of the country and recreate its gaming world.”

The installation of Intralot's terminals is expected to be completed by 2012. Supposedly, Intralot will combine its technology with a number of outlet types across Fortuna's nationwide retail network.
