Is BCLC about to expand its internet gambling offering?

There have been hints from the Canadian province of British Columbia that it may about to expand its operations into the mobile and tablet online market.

The serious consideration of such expansion by the British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC), which is responsible for operating the province's internet gambling, was supported by a recent survey, where 170,000 customers of PlayNow website were asked if they would use their mobile devices to play lotteries, poker, casino games and sports betting if these were offered. The outcome of the survey is not presently known.

These expansion plans may have also been triggered by the wish to increase online gambling’s participation in the corporation’s revenues, which currently amounts to only one percent.
