Romance Blooms For Two Bingo Players
Joan Williams 92 and Robert Lafoya 89 may have been looking for love in all the wrong places until now. It took a lifetime to find each other and bingo was there destiny for romance, love and marriage.

They met nearly 5 years ago at a retirement home in Medford. They both enjoy bingo and instantly hit it off. Joan with a sense of humor said she was cougar because she is three years his senior.

When Lafoya first laid eyes on her he said “that's a beautiful looking woman”. Their hearts spoke for them when they decided they needed each other and wanted to take care of each other.

They originally planned to tie the knot at city hall but the community wanted to do something special for them. The celebration wedding took place at the Twin Creeks retirement community in Central Point last week.

Joan wore a pink dressed borrowed from a friend and Robert wore the same suit from his previous marriages but vows this will be his last.

The wedding party was employees and neighbors with a flower girl, best man and maid of honor in attendance. Joan was nervous but it only took her 20 minutes to get ready before the ceremony.

“This is the best day of my life,” he said. “She probably saved me. And I feel that I need her.” “I needed him,” Williams said.

The newlyweds believe they have found their soul mates and promise to be together until death to they part.
