Counterfeit Bills Spotted by Gambling Station Manager
A 28-year-old man was arrested on February 16, 2012 for purportedly using counterfeit bills at an electronic gambling station in Manila.

Sencon Sabidin, of Taguig City, was found carrying several fake P500 bills. Apparently he had used these bills to play an e-bingo machine. After getting caught, Sabidin claimed that he got the bills from a friend. Supt. Ferdinand Quirante of the Manila Police said that Sabidin was first stopped by security at approximately 4:30pm while at the Divisoria Mall before being reported to local police.

It all began as Sabidin was playing an e-bingo machine. The cash needed to be removed from the machine so the manager, Christopher Diaz, asked him to switch machines.

It took a sharp eye but Diaz quickly noticed a phony bill at the top of the stack of cash retrieved from the e-bingo machine. Of course Sabidin was the last player so naturally the manager became suspicious.

22 additional counterfeit peso bills marked with similar serial numbers were found during questioning at the gambling station's administrative office. This was enough to convince Diaz to report Sabidin to police.
