The Real Maryland Winners Step Forward
MacDonald worker claim to record lottery win proved to be a fabrication

Mirlande Wilson, thirty-seven-year old MacDonald's Maryland employee, has strung the media and the public claiming to be the one third winner of this month's record $656 millions. Alas, on Tuesday she was exposed when the real winners, retaining anonymity , stepped forward.

Disclosing their professions - an elementary school teacher; a special education teacher, and another public school worker in Maryland - the three claimants were confirmed as the Maryland lucky winners. They shared one of three winning tickets scattered across Maryland, Illinois and Kansas.

Lottery officials said that each of the trio who shared the single Maryland ticket will take home $34.997 million after taxes, whilst the state of Maryland reaped about $13 million in revenue from the winning ticket.

The fortunate Maryland winners invested $20 each to play the $1 game a total of 60 times at three different locations. After striking it rich on March 30, they remained silent for a week, and meanwhile a bizarre McDonald's worker initially claimed she had the winning ticket but then said she lost it.

All said they would definitely invest some money, pay for new homes and a college education for their children, but would enjoyably spend money on dreams as exotic as a backpacking trip through Europe and a wine country tour in Italy.

As for the two other winning tickets, one was sold in Kansas where a winner has already came forward, and the other in Illinois where a winner has not yet appeared.
