Even though we find miscommunications irritating most of the time, this error turned out to be a beautiful one for John Ord (44) and his wife Karen (44), who both bought a lottery ticket last week, using the same numbers. And guess what? They both won!

Thanks to this mistake, they each won GBP 96,527 by predicting the correct winning numbers plus the bonus ball. Asked what they plan to spend the money on, the couple said they plan to treat their sons, aged between 12 and 17, to a holiday.

According to Ord, "It's a fantastic feeling. Our two youngest boys are really excited but our eldest is very cool about the whole thing and taking it in his stride.

"I love my work so I don't want to give it up but the win means that we can now sit back, relax and enjoy life."
