Update: UK Store Clerk Sentenced for Attempt of Fraud
Elderly couple gets justice

The sentence to the UK store clerk who attempted to defraud an elderly British couple who had a winning ticket, telling them it's worthless and trying to claim the million pound prize himself, has been pronounced this week, convicting him to 30 months in prison and deportation to his homeland Pakistan, from which he illegally emigrated to the UK.

Prior to this, Farrakh "Lucky" Nizzar (30), pleaded guilty to defrauding elderly couple Maureen and Fred Holt, and at the sentencing he seemed humble enough, with his head bowed and no reaction to the sentencing.

He was told by Recorder Philip Cattan at the sentencing: “This goes to the heart of public confidence in the National Lottery.
