Online Gambling Possible in Pennsylvania?
A report came this week that the Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett's administration issued a statement informing the public that it is in negotiations with unidentified companies on the gradual management privatization of the Department of Revenue-run Pennsylvania Lottery, at the same time expressing interest in online gambling and noting that it was "on the table".

However, it doesn't seem the whole privatization idea will go smoothly – so far it has faced opposition from both Pennysylvania's largest workers union and, the Democrats who wondered why the privatization was necessary when State employees can handle the job and thereby keep the proceeds from the lottery which in past fiscal year brought $ 1 Billion into state coffers.

According to Corbett, his administration's investigation into privatization would only be seriously considered if "the State could guarantee itself more money. If we can ensure increased funding and protect our seniors who are the recipients of the lottery ... then we have our obligation to take a look at privatizing."
