Habitat for Humanity and Moose Lodge have partnered up for this fundraising event to encourage the community help in any way they can.
The event was held from 7-9 p.m. to anyone at least 21 years old.
“10 percent is not enough, 20 percent is not good either, I want to donate all the proceeds,” the manager at the Moose Lodge said in a press release.
The hopes were that 130 players would attend. Players had the opportunity to win some great cash prizes ranging from $50 to $500.
The EIU Habitat for Humanity was formed to contribute and give back to the community in the form of volunteers. The money raised from the bingo event will be put to good use within the neighborhood.

I have to commend the Moose Lodge for providing such a fun and lucrative way to benefit the Habitat for Humanity. The staff at the Lodge are donating their time and efforts, which is always a good thing. The players are not only donating their money, in exchange they are able to have a chance at some great cash prizes....

I would certainly be game for attending bingo sessions in my hometown, and absolutely would love to know that the proceeds are going towards helping the people who live around me and need it the most. Locally, we do have charity bingo events but they usually are held by the charity, for the charity. Usually this is a church event and they use the money to help parishioners and other local folks in need with food, clothing, furniture, utilities, and costs of operating. When these events are held there is a good turnout of attendance, and getting together to play bingo is a great way to get to know the people in your community. While all bingo here is non-profit, we don't always know what parts of the money are going where. It's often very hard to distinguish between venues which are giving the most to charity. With the Moose Lodge, they are giving it all away, and that's gotta be one of the best things they could do. Not only do they provide entertainment and fun to their community, they are helping to build houses and provide for the less fortunate. Great job, Moose Lodge!
