Drug Addict Banned from Bingo Hall
A drug addict has been banned from entering a bingo hall for a year after police witnessed him injecting himself in the toilets.

Stephen Greenhorn, 32, stopped off at the toilets at Mecca Bingo after he mistakenly thought he was being followed by CID officers.

Security staff approached him but he threatened them with the hypodermic needle in his hand.

Greenhorn said to Mecca Bingo staff, “Don't come near me” and “Don't open the door. I am going to stick this in my veins”.

When police arrived, he told them to go away so he could inject himself.

Officers ordered him to drop the syringe, but when they but they still found him trying to inject himself in the groin.

Greehorn's defense solicitor Elspeth McPartlin said, “He began suffering from paranoid delusions. He became convinced he was being pursued by CID officers. They were, in fact, looking for friend of his. He was convinced he was being taken into custody and decided to take an injection before being arrested.”

It was quite a scene which has landed him a 12 month ban from the Mecca Bingo hall.
