Bingo Pull Tabs

Bingo Pull Tabs
To most bingo players around the world, bingo pull tabs are a mysterious legend. What are they and what are they used for? We're here to solve the mystery of the pull tab and no, it's not a pop top!

Pull tabs are little cards that are passed around in American bingo halls. They are typically on sale for $1 and staff will sell them to the players in-between games. Pull tabs equal instant wins. There are a minimum of three tabs that are pulled back to reveal a prize.

Often times pull tabs have symbols that players must match in order to win the corresponding prize much like a lottery scratch off ticket or a bingo scratch card.

There have even been online bingo sites that have featured a few pull tab games. Players are prompted to click on the tabs to reveal what's underneath.

American bingo players have been known to win $500 or more as the result of purchasing a winning pull tab. Walk around any bingo hall in the US and you'll see stacks of pulled pull tabs all askew on the tables. Some players spend hundreds of dollars hoping for a chance to win.

Pull tabs come in a variety of themes and designs. The concept is actually quite simple and it's a shame that amazing little pieces of cardboard are not more widely used across worldwide bingo halls.

So for those of you that thought that pull tabs were twisted off of a can of pop, hopefully this has cleared things up.
