President’s Day Takes Precedence at Bingo
President's Day is a National holiday in the United States. A brief history of this day starts when it was originally established in 1885 in honor of then President George Washington. Washington's Birthday is on February 22nd and was the actual day it was celebrated.

It wasn't until 1971 when the Uniform Holiday Act revised the holiday celebration on the third Monday in February allowing a longer three day weekend for American workers honoring all US presidents. This year in 2014 it falls on February 17th. Some states still recognize individual holidays for Abraham Lincoln and Washington both born in the month of February.

Similar to the Independence Day holiday, it is a time of patriotic celebration and remembrance. Most public offices are closed including the United Postal office, public schools, banks and federal offices.

The American working force takes advantage of the day off by both relaxing and sleeping in late or plan some sort of fun day.
