Illinois Lottery Online Ticket Sales Successful
This week the Illinois State Lottery revealed that ticket sales over the last two years have grossed $36.9 million without any issues with geo-location, money laundering or age-verification.

The lottery uses similar technology to that of online casinos and although it does not offer gaming, it does prove that the technology can used.

Illinois Lottery director Michael Jones commented on the lack of operational problems:

“The Lottery, through its private manager, launched the first Internet sales portal in the United States during the $656 million Mega Millions jackpot week of March 2012. Two years later, it is clear that the age and geography constraints that were key parts of the test are working as designed.”
