Georgia Against Federal Ban on Online Gambling
Georgia is now expressing its opposition to federal bills to ban online gambling in the United States.

The Georgia Lottery Corporation sent out a fact sheet to its supporters providing information on the effects a ban would have on its online sales.

Lottery chief Debbie Alford wrote to lawmakers regarding her discontentment toward the Chaffetz - Graham bills saying that that it would affect the online business that “...continues to be critical to our success and our ability to grow revenues for education.”

“Innovative and effective methods of increasing revenues are central to keep up with rising costs of providing education, and the incremental sales growth provided by this channel plays a vital role in that effort.”

Georgia Governor Nathan Deal, a Republican, is a known supporter of Sheldon Adelson.

According to the Washington DC publication Politico, he said, “Politics requires a large sum of money nowadays to be successful, and it's nice to have people like Sheldon who are willing to support causes they believe in.”
