Spain's El Gordo lottery has appealed to an especially large number of people in Roquetas de Mar where 1,600 tickets have been sold.
The winning numbers were in a televised in a draw on December 22, 2015 with a large portion of the winners coming from the seaside town with €640m from the pot going to residents.
“I went to change money at the bank and they told me that El Gordo was won here,” said the local lottery vendor José Martín. “I told them, don't tease me.”
"I'm really happy and I congratulate all the winners," Mayor Gabriel Amat said. "It's very important for the town, especially in the difficult times we've been facing."
In other lottery related news, Scientific Games Corporation recently signed a 5-year contract for the provision of retail technology, including 725 terminals and software and maintenance services, to the Lotto-Toto GmbH Sachsen-Anhalt, Germany.
Scientific Games already provides Lottery in Sachsen-Anhalt with instant games, a lottery central gaming system and retail terminals.
