Bingo Site Watch: Katie’s Bingo
A new bingo site boasting the players' interest in mind is on its way. Katie's Bingo, which was due to launch in January but has been delayed, will feature Dragonfish software.

The owner, Katie, says that this will be a different concept because she has previously worked for an online bingo site. She grew tired of working for someone who knew nothing about running a bingo site nor being a player. She decided to pack up her desk and put her passion for the game into her own brand.

888's Dragonfish powers many of the popular brands existing today such as 888 Ladies, Bingo Street, Costa Bingo, Foxy Bingo, Pink Ribbon Bingo, Robin Hood Bingo and many more. Operation by Cassava Enterprises is part of the deal when selecting this software.

In terms of selecting which software to power her site, Katie discussed the search in her blog:

“I looked into Virtue Fusion (Paddy Power Bingo, William Hill Bingo and Gala Bingo) but the up front costs were too high and I didn't feel the team behind it would be able to dedicate enough time to my little fish of a bingo site.

“I also spoke with Cozy Games (Little Miss Bingo, Lucky Socks Bingo and Comfy Bingo) but I've never found them to be overly player friendly, with their withdrawal rules and wagering.

“The reason I went with Dragonfish in the end is that they seem to be really popular with all players and when I was speaking to them they offered me a lot of support in terms of marketing, development and promotions. They work with a lot of smaller sites, so they understand what little guys like me need in terms of help and especially with keeping the stuff like stats and business as simple as possible.”

Although very popular, brands operated by Cassava Enterprises often have several sections within the terms and conditions that players should take note of. In most cases the withdrawal limits are too low and the processing will have you waiting several days to receive your winnings even if you use an e-wallet as your payment method.

In the case of progressive jackpot wins, there is typically no mention of waiving withdrawal limits to pay the player in a lump sum. The magic jackpot number seems to be £20,000, which may be paid in 24 month installments. Yes, that's two years to receive your money. It's also standard for players to give the company “irrevocable, exclusive and perpetual worldwide right and license, to use your name, photograph and likeness in any media, which includes but is not limited to TV, radio, magazines and the Internet in connection with the marketing and promotion of the Company” when you win a jackpot of this amount. So unfortunately, if you'd prefer to remain anonymous you won't have that option.

We have yet to see what Katie's Bingo has to offer and whether choosing Dragonfish fits in with her brand concept.

What are your thoughts regarding the rules for sites powered by Dragonfish? Do the pluses outweigh the negatives?
