Bankruptcy for Millionaire Bingo Jackpot Winner
We all sit back and dream, dream about what we would do if we ever won big, I mean really big. The kind of win that is life changing. Imaginations run wild with fantasies of buying a mansion carved out from a cliff seaside, fancy sports cars and traveling the world over. Others are a bit more practical opting not to change their lifestyle quite so drastically and instead pay off all their debts and lead a comfortable yet not extravagant lifestyle.

Now since your imagination can run away with you on what you would do with a massive win, imagine this: Winning a £1.2 million Jackpot that ends up resulting in filing bankruptcy.

Unfortunately, it is a true story for one of the biggest Bingo winners of all time Soraya Lowell of Hamilton, Lanarkshire in Scotland.

Back in 2008 Soraya was one lucky lady scooping up a Jackpot over a million playing bingo. She was faced with bankruptcy after going to court over unpaid bills including a £13,214 council tax bill and when the Bank of Scotland seized their £150,000 home in Hamilton that Soraya bought after her win.

Ironically after her windfall, Soraya said: 'It's easy to say what you're going to do with the money before you win it. But in reality, it's tough.

'I haven't got the slightest idea what to do with it. I bought a car just before I won, so I don't need a new one and I love my house and my neighbours, so moving is out of the question.

'I got the cheque and I'm sure there will be a lot of people out there who would be more than willing to help me spend it.

The moral here is that no matter how much you win, using common sense and being conservative on certain purchases is necessary no matter how rich you become.
