It's not anything like US 75-ball bingo. House of Bingo has a cute theater theme. There are red velvet curtains drawn open to show the homepage, and there is damask wallpaper. Aside from that, though, the site is very much like many others. You'll need to log into the site in order to be able to see many of its features.

Registration

The registration process is easy, except that in several cases, the site didn't complete the registration properly. If your registration doesn't work right, it will tell you that your passwords don't match. Clicking the “forgot password” link will send an email with a link and you can reset your password. I'm not quite sure why or when it doesn't work, but I got the same result on more than one attempt to register a new player.

Bonuses and Promotions

The site is somewhat misleading in that you have to register with a credit card in order to get the initial free money that they offer you. It's a little frustrating, to say the least, to expect free money to show up in your account, and not know why it doesn't appear. Only by looking at other reviewers was I able to understand that I needed to register a credit or debit card to get the 20 pound bonus. Likewise, if you're playing on those initial bonus bucks, you're limited to 15 tickets for each game. I do understand why a site would make that stipulation for players who haven't made a deposit. Otherwise, a newbie could play a handful of tickets and finish all their money on a game or two. This way, they know they've got you for several games. In addition to the £20 you get just for signing up, you'll also get a 200% deposit bonus on your first deposit. There are weekly and monthly promotions as well as chat games and a weekly “roomie” prize for whoever is voted most friendly in the chats.

How it Plays

Overall, playing House of Bingo is easy. You purchase your cards and you watch the game. One real annoyance is that you can't manually daub your cards, so you're likely to be quite bored if you're not the type to chat. Fortunately, chats do seem to be active on the site, so if you are a chatter, you'll have who to talk to. House of Bingo also offers some other games on the site, so if you don't feel like watching your cards daub themselves and there's no one interesting to chat to, you can indulge in some slots, roulette, or keno.
