Bingo Lovers,
It has been a long time since i went to a bingo hall. I got a crazy notion to stray away from online bingo and head to land based bingo hall. Yes, I know your all wondering what in the world was I thinking! Even the most timid player among us will get adventerous from time to time and stray from the virtual world.
Not knowing the hours of operation, I head inside the double doors to a world of uncertainty. My stomach feels a bit queasy as I brave my way inside a room so quiet you could here a pin drop. My heart begins to pound a little faster as I realize I have to walk to the front, passed all the bingo players. I get the impulse to turn around on my heels and make a
mad dash to the exit door!
At first I look out of the corner of my eye to the right of me. As I walk up the aisle I see plastic trash bags taped to each table. You knew which player had rank. They were the ones that had two plastic trash bags taped next to them! I look out of the corner of my eye to the left and see a bingo player sneer at me in disbelief that I would have the nerve to disrupt the middle of a small picture frame game.
Bingo daubers were lined up in front of the players cards. Not one dauber, but up to 5-6 daubers! They were strategically placed and uniformly lined up. The good luck charms were everywhere! Forget the troll dolls, im talking every thing from Buda to 8x10 pictures of family members.
I finally made my way to the front where the caller was. He covered the mike as I asked him if he could tell me the scheduled hours. I shuttered that he paused the game for a moment to answer me. I could hear deep breaths like their own private thunder that could only be heard at a bingo hall!
As the piercing eyes stare at me in utter horror for my rude interuption, I stare back. I look right into their eyes and I stop them cold. I did the unthinkable, something that shocked them more than my entrance. Anticipating to wage a war on this intruder they are unable to fathom what I am doing.
I had my weapon of defense all along. I carry it with me where ever I go and it works like a charm. I flashed them all a great big smile! Suddenly frown lines began to fade. The scowls and hisses began to cease. Bingo players actually nodded their heads as a way to say hello. All but one that is. The one with two garbage bags, a 8x10 photo and enough bingo daubers lined up to supply every player in the bingo hall. She was not about to budge!
I plan on making a trip there sometime within the next week. I will come back and tell all my virtual friends about my up close and personal bingo experience. I will also bring with me the biggest purse I own. I plan on sitting right across from the lady that wouldn’t budge. What pity it would be if my purse knocked over her menagerie of trinkets as i walk past her........or would it?
Dare i go back.......
