  • It is my birthday month and I have received a coupon for bingo at one of the local Indian casinos in my area. Yipee! Gotta love gettin' older! So, my sis is taking me to the casino tomorrow for free bingo. I can have all the packs I can play up to 7 packs. And here is where I need some advice.

I am not a huge bingo player because I can't keep track of all the cards and numbers and getting them marked before the next 3 numbers come along. I used to play one or two cards with my mom and she would have 20 or so cards and still had time to point out the ones I missed on my two. Online is great because they do all that marking and tracking the bingos on their own... perfect for the bingo challenged like me.

If anyone has any advice to help speed things up, like a special method of scanning the cards for the numbers or heck I don't know... any help would be appreciated! Otherwise, if you don't have any advice on this, just wish me luck, I'm gonna need it!

  • Good luck katt and happy birthday!

  • I can't really offer any advice either.  I can only play 6 at a time so one "dab" per number called is all I can do.

Happy Birthday Katt and good luck.

  • The best advice i can give you katt is to play the electronic bingo cards. It does all the work for you and marks off the numbers, counts down to how many numbers you need and lets you know when you have a bingo.

Don't know if the casino you are going to offers that, but it's your best option. As far as any tricks to marking your cards quicker i don't really have any other than keep your eyes on the cards and good luck to you.

  • Electronic is the way to go. I can't comfortably dab more than 2 sets of cards at a time for 90 ball. 75 ball bingo is a bit slower so maybe 3.

  • I can't give ya any advice since I neva played land based bingo. But good luck at tables um em with bingo cards :)

  • Well, I am back from the bingo hall and wow what an experience. I am exhausted. Thank you all for your advice and your good luck wishes. I did not win, but it wasn't for lack of trying.

They did have some electronic games, but they were expensive so I stuck with paper. The freebie came with up to 7 packs of sheets for the games. I opted for only 3 packs and that was way too many.

What I did not realized was that it did not mean I would have 3 cards to check each game it meant I would have 18 to look at because each page had 6 cards on it! I was relieved every time someone yelled bingo because I could stop trying to keep up for a second. Anyone that could play 7 packs at a time would really impress me.

My sister had opted for 3 packs also and she was in the same boat! It was pretty comical and we promised each other we would not do that again for a long, long time if ever! We gave our daubers to some nearby people when we left because we will not need them any time soon.

  • I wish you had a win katt. Sounds like you had a good time. I'm not sure how anyone could play 42 cards. Did they call slowly enough? Did you buy any pull-tabs? Those are always so popular at the US bingo halls and have the potential to cause you to spend spend spend.

  • Shame you didn't win Katt.  I would have struggled with 3 x 6 cards each game too.

Glad you enjoyed your day with your sister.

  • Thanks blue, it was good to get out and spend time with my sis and it would have been great if one of us won, but that's the way it goes. A girl next to us won $250 and that was exciting. $$

Thanks froggy... we did have a good time being together for the day, leaving all our normal responsibilities behind, and indulging in hot links and nachos supreme. But, no we did not play pull-tabs or any of the "extra" bingo games they offer as they cost more money which we did not have. My bingo was free and she paid for hers, which left us both with a grand total of $5 each!  LOL LOL

I don't think we would have been able to keep up with anything more to do anyway. They did not call slowly enough for sure. I might make it thru 2 of the 3 packs before the next number was up, so I was constantly trying to catch up. I was pretty sure I would not know if I won because I did not have time to look for the pattern needed.  8'|

I don't know how people keep up with those 7 packs at once either, but some have special board things to lay them all out and it tilts up in front of them. But you still have to check them all and daub them. For me with my 3 it already felt like I was in a marathon! 8p

    Thanks again!

  • Well it certainly sounds like you had an interesting time. Do you think you'll go back or do you prefer online bingo to land based?

Interesting is a good way of putting it! I will not be doing that again for a long, long, long time if ever! I will stick with online where they keep track of all that checking and daubing for me! LOL LOL LOL

  • I enjoyed the post kattboots. I was envisioning you armed with a dabber and scrambling to keep up. I have never stepped foot into a bingo hall and cant say that i would but the online thing has grown on me. We can kick back and relax armed with an ice cold one.
