Smoking Ban Lifted for Bingo Halls in Springfield
« on: May 11, 2012, 02:22:22 AM »
Hiya LBB'ers,

In Springfield, Illinois a law to allow smoking in certain private clubs has been approved lifting the smoking ban. Bingo players are back in the game with an ashtray and ciggy right along next to their bingo cards.

Since the smoking ban many bingo halls and casinos have seen a decline in customers.

The smokers are happy and some of the non-smokers are not. Some are claiming because it was a public vote to ban smoking the gov had no biz overturning it.

Do you think gambling establishments like bingo and casinos should have the right to allow smokers? Or is it unfair altogether to pick and choose where smoking is allowed and where it is not?

This is such a sticky subject. I think as long as the area is separated what's the big deal. As I have the right to smoke, others have the right not to. If revenue has decreased due to the ban then they've got to do what they've got to do.

Since vast number of people are smokers, including myself, i certainly do not support smoking to be completely forbidden, but separated areas as froggy mentioned are probably the best solution for everyone

So long as there are seperated areas for smokers and non-smokers there shouldn't be a problem at all i think.

As long as these two areas is separated, I'm fine with it. I don't smoke and if I'm in a room where people smoke, my eyes get irritated easily, my clothes get smelly, and I have to do the laundry again; that's tiring. :)
