Unlucky for some....13

Hi Bingo Balls,

Today is Friday the 13th. It is believed by many that the number 13 signifies bad luck or has some negative connotation. The stigma surrounding 13 dates back many years and across several cultures.

In 90 ball bingo, the call is "13 Unlucky for some". What is your experience with the day and the number? Is it good or bad luck?

I bought some gum and mouthwash at the store today and my change from a 20 was 13.13 and it seemed to creep out the lady at the counter lol.

I only had one somewhat bad experience in Friday the 13th and that is when i got into a car accident but luckily i didn't get hurt.

I have to admit i do avoid the number 13 because there is so much bad luck attached to it. But i must really be a strong belief for a lot of people because many major hotels and large buildings do not have an 13th floor.

I don't think about it too much and actually consider 13 to be my lucky number - just the day like any other. My first memories about Friday the 13th are very nice, I got the highest grade on my french test then.

I'm not really affected by the number either Markotik. I can't say it's necessarily been lucky for me but it hasn't really been majorly unlucky either.

Yes, I agree Froggy. I think it's the same thing with all superstitions, they should be taken seriously.

In a somewhat related event, the highest grade I ever got on a French test WAS a 13.
