Press Conference On Internet Gambling In Ontario
The officials will address 'modernizing lottery and gaming in Ontario'

Ontario provincial lottery and government officials - Finance Minister Dwight Duncan and Ontario Lottery and Gaming chairman Paul Godfrey - have called a press conference to discuss "modernizing lottery and gaming in Ontario."

It has been a while that Ontario, following the example of British Columbia and Quebec, has been considering the idea of making changes to its current gambling laws in a bid to obtain more profit from the multimillion-dollar online gambling industry.

According to Ontario Lottery and Gaming online gambling is worth about Cdn$500 million in Ontario, and at the moment all the money goes to offshore betting sites.

That is why the agency has recently sent out proposal requests for help in setting up and running online games including video poker and video slots, as well as lottery ticket sales.
