May 1, 2012 will begin the reign of an independent non-executive director. The parent company of Meccas Bingo, Rank, has named Sir Richard Needham, Earl of Kilmorey, as the man for this new role within the company.
Sir Richard has a history of experience in parliament. In the ten years of 1985-1995 Sir Richard served as Minister in Northern Ireland and as Minister of Trade. 1997 marked his final year in the political arena as he set his sights on the private sector. Biocompatibles International plc, The Heart Hospital Limited and Dyson Limited are among the companies he has held the title of director.

Sir Richard is the non-executive director of Avon Rubber plc at 70 years of age. He is an integral part of several other large companies and makes the future of Rank look even brighter.
