UK ASA Censures Fabulous Bingo TV Advert
The ad should not be aired again in its present form

UK Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) censured the television advert for Fabulous Magazine's bingo website Fabulous Bingo.co.uk licenced and operated by Gamesys subsidiary Entertaining Play Limited this week.

The ruling was issued following the assessment of the Gambling Reform and Society Perception Group that the ad connects gambling to enhanced attractiveness, seduction and sexual success.

In a nutshell, the ad shows two women, the attractive one and the dull one sitting in a café. After the dull one takes her laptop to sign up for Fabulous Bingo, she suddenly transforms into a good-looking lady simply by pressing the register key.

According to ASA, the ad could create the understanding that playing at the branded website may boost attractiveness and develop self image. Consequently, the ad should not be shown again in its present form as per the ASA's official decision.
