The end of the Old and the start of the New Year turned out to be a real festive season for a West Yorkshire granny who hit it big on the Ladbrokes bingo site – twice!
Namely, the unnamed grandmother first had a lucrative Christmas takeaway of GBP 31,000, and then, only days afterward and as soon as she stepped into 2013, she hit it again on the same site; only this time she won a jackpot of GBP 250,000 on a GBP 10 stake, playing the “Bouncing Balls” game!
Later on, the player said that when she saw eight of the jackpot symbols appear, she thought she had won only GBP 500. However, she then realized the sum's much bigger. As she told Ladbrokes, "I'd already had an amazing run and was chuffed to pieces. I then saw the GBP 500 and was over the moon but slowly it dawned on me that I may have landed the big jackpot. It must have only been seconds in real time but it felt like hours until it was confirmed. I've barely slept since!"
With the money, the granny plans to buy a new house and splash some of the money on a nice holiday: "First things first, I'd like to buy a new house. I'll then round up all my children and grandchildren and go on holiday straight away - but I'm not worried about the weather so we'll just go down the road to Haven!" she said.
