Five Republican politicians, led by Senate President Joe Scarnati and Majority Leader Dominic Pileggi expressed concerns in a written communication to Governor Tom Corbett about UK lottery operator Camelot which has contract for the Pennsylvanian State Lottery.
The Republicans believe Camelot should be restricted from an over-expansion of gambling products during its management, specifically in regard to the expansion of video lottery terminals and any venture into online gambling.
Besides the gambling expansion they are also worried that additional gambling channels may impact the state's land casino operators, who have been enjoying a bumper year with overtaking neighbouring states.
