BBC Launches Top Gear Bingo!
BBC launches a new application for non-UK viewers called Top Gear Bingo!

The app was created on the Monterosa LViS platform and allows viewers to look for cars, items and phrases associated with the program. Players will check them off during live broadcasts similar to a game of bingo. According to BBC, the app is free and may be downloaded via local BBC websites. The app will also be linked to Facebook allowing users to invite friends to play.

Tom McDonnell, commercial director at Monterosa, explained that LViS' versatility was the reason why BBC chose to work with the developer for its new app.

“Using LViS we can develop fantastic second-screen apps capable of scaling globally and living anywhere. We've worked closely with BBC Worldwide to enhance the viewing experience for Top Gear fans, while at the same time giving broadcasters a new channel for creating advertising opportunities and activating sponsorships,” said Tom McDonnell, commercial director at Monterosa.

“Second-screen apps have a very exciting future and we're delighted that LViS is leading the way in the deployment of global apps for mainstream TV shows.”

The app was available for the first time last Sunday as the new Top Gear Series 19 aired across the globe on BBC Entertainment, BBC HD, BBC Knowledge and BBC America.
