Bingo Association Addresses Bingo Tax Rate
Taxes on bingo continue to contribute to the suffering of one of the most loved games in the UK, bingo. Bingo is subject to a 20% tax rate while other mean of gambling are subject to just 15%. It's this variance that has placed UK bingo clubs in a crucial state.

The Bingo Association strives to reduce the tax rate placed on the bingo clubs as they continue to close every month leaving just 150 around the country.

On April 24th, the All Party Parliamentary Bingo Group met for their annual reception and addressed the effects of the tax rate on the communities that the bingo clubs serve. In attendance were 19 MPs and 48 members of the Bingo Association.

“We are delighted to have held another successful parliamentary reception on bingo,” said Miles Baron, chief executive of the Bingo Association. “The number of MPs who have attended has grown year on year and highlights the growing support we are gaining from within Westminster to tackle our tax rate.

“I would like to thank all my members who were able to attend and show their support and I have no doubts this year's event will aid our continued lobbying efforts against the inequitable tax system levied on bingo.”
