Richard Astill, the operations manager of a Mecca Bingo club Bedford was the recipient of the Operations Manager of the Year award at the company's annual award ceremony. His hard work was rewarded with a well-deserved award given by his peers.
The managing director of Mecca Bingo, Mark Jones, said of the award “The Operations Manager of the Year award is for the ops manager who has consistently gone above and beyond the call of duty in their everyday working lives. From helping the general manager to increase sales, to mucking in with the team, to ensuring the customers have a great night in the clubs, Richard has done it all and with a smile on his face. He is also the club's charity champion and environmental champion.”
Astill was honored by the award as his peers were responsible for the award.
Astill said, “I would like to say a big thank you to all the other team members at Mecca Bedford. They make my job a lot easier because of their hard work and dedication.”
“It also helps that we have such fantastic club customers in Bedford. Friendly, fun and always up for a laugh, they make coming in to work every day a pleasure.”
