The Illinois State Lottery has launched the first mobile lottery application in the United States. The app allows customers to purchase lotto tickets and check the status of previous tickets.
The app will features a variety of options for lottery customers including the standard lotto, Powerball and Mega Millions plus a "find your nearest ticket seller outlet" service using geo-location technology.
The app is on sale for those 18 and over for $5.
To address problem gambling, the app displays messages regarding spending limits, self-exclusion information and counselling advice.
