It was an impressive turnout on Wednesday 26th February 2014 at Westminster in a campaign to reduce bingo duty from 20% to 15% lowering it by 5%.
The Boost Bingo national campaign launched in January for a government request to lower bingo tax. Support was staggering with 400 Bingo clubs across the country, customers and the general public.
Organized by The Bingo Association, over 300,000 petition signatures were gathered in a march with close to 200 bingo customers to Westminster at the Chancellor's residence at Number 11 Downing Street.
The excessive tax burden prevents investment and job creation. According to Miles Baron Chief Executive of The Bingo Association:
'Reducing bingo duty will enable clubs to invest in their future. More investment means more jobs and more thriving bingo communities. If bingo duty is lowered from 20% to 15%, the industry as a whole has committed to substantial investment in modernisation and jobs.
'We hope that by receiving hundreds of thousands of petition signatures, the Government will realise this is something that really matters to the British public and lower bingo duty.'
