Geonomics, formerly known as Roboreus, has made its first millionaire on its GeoLotto game.
Once known as GeoSweep, GeoLotto was pulled from the UK market by Roboreus due to its poor performance.
The Atlantic Lottery Corporation (ALC) invested approximately CAD$8.7 million with an additional CAD$2 million for marketing to promote the game.
GeoLotto has since reemerged in the UK market via Geo24, which is a joint venture between the Zeal Network and Geonomics. Customers are provided with an interactive Google map where players choose location squares to 'own' for GBP1 per play.
Roy Tyler from Leighton Buzzard placed his bet and won an amazing one million pound prize on Saturday.
Henry Oakes, co-founder of Geonomics, aid, 'We're delighted to announce our first GeoLotto millionaire, this is a major event for both Geonomics and for Roy!'
