Florida Lottery Grants 13-Year Contract to IGT
International Game Technology (IGT), a US gaming supplier, has won its bid with the Florida Lottery and signed a 13-year contract to begin replacing current lottery systems with its own equipment and technology. The contractual obligations are for a 10-year period, with the Florida Lottery having the freedom to exercise 3-year renewal options with IGT.

One of the first steps that IGT is taking to ensure that Florida has left its lottery in good hands, is to replace current retailer terminals with IGT's advanced Altura Flex Terminals. Included in the roll-out of new hardware, comes IGT's Gemini Self-Service Lottery vending machines for both draw-based and instant games.

IGT Senior Vice President of North America Lottery, Jay Gendron, expressed his excitement of the partnership with some insightful comments, stating, “Working together, our aligned organizations can build on this success even further for the benefit of Florida's education program,” and that, "Since 2005, the Florida Lottery and IGT have worked together to implement solutions and initiatives that have been key to the lottery's growth."

"The lottery's close attention to the needs of players and retailers has been instrumental in making it among the world's most successful and respected lotteries – and serves as a model for driving lottery growth through effective branding and innovation.”

IGT's hardware and technology offer solutions to the Florida Lottery that were developed mindfully with the feedback of retailers and customers. Prime examples include the utilization of IGT's Aurora MultiMedia Ticket-Scan Plus Self-Service ticket validators as well as in-store signage.

For the duration of the contract, IGT will remain dedicated to providing the Florida Lottery with innovative systems and execution of up-to-date technology. With the Florida Lottery recently recording its 5th consecutive record-breaking financial year, and its ongoing dedication to contributing money towards education, the partnership with IGT surely appears to be an additional step forward.
