Scientific Games (SG), a global developer of online video slots, has just announced the acquisition of Red7Mobile Ltd, a UK-based iGaming provider. The fee for this purchase has not been disclosed, but it is known that Scientific Games will retain all of Red7's staff in the firm's existing Bristol office, under the terms of the deal.

SG will continue to support Red7 existing partnerships with other online and sports betting operators. Red7 is known for designing slots and other applications for mobile and desktop, for various leading names in the gambling industry. Some existing mobile slots created by this company include Alice in Fantasyland, Pinball Magic and Dinoworld, with a distinct Jurassic Park flavour. The company has also produced sports apps for William Hill, Paddy Power and BetVictor, such as darts, messenger software and real-time scoreboards.

Scientific Games are themselves known for both real-world slots cabinets and online slots, with two other big names- WMS and Barcrest- as subsidiaries. Their games include official Michael Jackson and Titanic slots, the famous Rainbow Riches, Action Bank and Lucky Tree.

Matt Hatch, Chief Executive Officer of Red7 said: "We are excited to be a part of Scientific Games, combining Red7's creativity, innovation, and award-winning games to deliver transformational player experiences to Scientific Games' real-money gaming partners around the globe."

Barry Cottle, Scientific Games Group Chief Executive (Interactive), added: 'The acquisition of Red7 and its highly creative, talented team is a very positive development in SG Interactive's growth story. Red7's portfolio of innovative games augments our entertaining game content and industry-leading intellectual property. We're also excited about their sports betting apps, which include a host of robust features that add excitement to the sports betting experience.'

The move suggests that there's big potential for innovative mobile slots or perhaps new forms of gaming apps in the future, great news for fans of SG's existing games.
