UK Resident Matches 7 Numbers In Euromillions
Lucky lottery player from the UK has succeeded in lining all seven numbers on Euromillions last Friday, hitting a whopping cash amount of £78M GBP!! As a matter of fact, the lucky entrant is one of the two winners who matched all the numbers to claim a share of a £156M jackpot. The amazing cash prize had been booming since December 29, reaching as high as £170 million – last year’s record. The other prizewinner was from Spain, since Euromillions represents a transnational lottery including several European countries.

Lucky players from the UK and Spain chose exactly the same numbers, including 10, 17, 18, 28 and 47, whereas the Lucky Star numbers were 3 and 7. National Lottery host congratulated the winner from Great Britain by saying “What a win for one lucky UK ticket holder,” adding that the UK ticket holder is the 10th biggest winner of all time. The exact sum of both jackpots amounts to £77,798,898.10 without tax.

As soon as the lottery processes both requests for payout and ticket validation, players can decide whether to go public or stay anonymous. Likewise, a pair from the UK, Colin and Christine Weir, hold the record for winning a humongous sum on Euromillions, reaching as much as £161m in 2011.

Launched in February 2004 and supported by its founding countries UK, France and Spain, Euromillions grew very quickly and became one of the most popular lottery competitions with staggering jackpot wins. Austria, Belgium, Ireland, Luxembourg, Portugal and Switzerland joined soon after but the draws are still held every Tuesday and Friday in Paris at 20:45 CET.

Fun fact: Friday’s jackpot equals Daniel Radcliffe’s (Harry Potter actor) net worth.
