A lottery ticket purchased in Alberta, Canada was drawn on Max Millions in Edmonton on December 15th, hitting a $1,000,000 jackpot. The winner still hasn't stepped forward to claim the prize and the funds keep piling up - another extra prize of $250,000 is also still waiting for its winner. The largest unclaimed lottery bonanza in Canada happened in 2006 when a $14.9 million draw went back into the prize pool for bonus draws. The year-long window came and went, making it completely impossible for the winner to walk away with a fortune, added Marantz. At the time being, around $2.9 million of lottery money is waiting to be claimed in Alberta. The winners have 365 days to confirm their winnings, otherwise, the money will go back into the pool.
